Christof Brux

Non-Resident Missionary • Coach • Church Planter
With over 30 years of experience, I bring the gospel in a sustainable way from house to house to different cultures in Africa, Europe, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India. My mission is to empower people to follow Jesus practically and establish vibrant faith communities.

My Path to the Nations
How did I get to these countries and contacts?
At a young age, Florian Bärtsch took me to Bulgaria and Bangladesh, where my passion for mission was awakened. Since then, I have always been led to the countries and the contacts through dreams. By this, I mean dreams and visions at night while sleeping. I saw regions, faces, and names and received instructions in my dreams. As amazing as this sounds, it is still a great challenge of faith to simply go and do it.

Scope and Size of our Mission

How many people have we directly reached/trained? How many house churches or home cells were started? How many leaders were trained? How many countries were reached? How many projects have we started?

Not all questions can be answered equally for every country. The names of organizations and responsible people are not published, as this would be counterproductive due to persecution in some countries.

  • Bulgaria (14 Trainings / 1 Project / 2010-2024) We have trained about 300 Bulgarians who have started so-called Discovery Groups (discipleship) in homes in various regions. They reach out beyond Bulgaria into Greece, Italy, Malta, Cyprus, France, Austria, Germany, and England.

  • Bangladesh (7 Trainings / 2 Projects / 2011-2016) Mostly discipleship training for young people aged 14-25, some of whom are now leaders themselves running their own ministries.

  • Pakistan (1 Training / 1 Project / 2017) Here we exclusively trained 400 leaders in evangelism.

  • Kenya (3 Trainings / 3 Projects / 2018 – Present) Discipleship trainings to start house churches or home cells in existing churches. Two teams were formed here (Nairobi and West) that I still coach via video chat. With our support, they have reached many other African countries through discipleship training: Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Somalia, South Sudan, Zanzibar, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa.

  • Tanzania (1 Training / 2019) With the Kenyan team (see above).

  • India (3 Trainings / 1 Project / 2011/2025-Present) Short trainings in churches (Delhi) and multi-day trainings in a house church network in the Lucknow region, both in 2011. 2025: Discipleship training to start house churches or home cells in existing churches. Two 4-day trainings in the Chennai region. Here, new teams are being formed throughout India by a core team. I coach this very new, 4-month-old core team (as of August 2025) via video chat and am already planning the next trainings.

Specific Skills and Methods

What specific training methods and programs do we use? How do we adapt our methods to different cultural contexts?

  • We work with the Discovery Method and the three questions. We have put together 12 core topics that can be adapted or expanded as needed. These build discipleship values in people and are worked through together in groups.

  • Since cultures are very different, we adapt the training accordingly. The methodology is the same, but the topics are taught more intensively and explored more deeply depending on the culture, as some are barely present. This takes time and patience and is not a sprint, but a marathon. There’s also always the challenge of communication, education, and church tradition – which often exist alongside the Gospel and sometimes even contradict it. Religion is poison, and detoxification (even in church circles) is also part of the discipleship process and is not always pleasant.

Impact

The most beautiful thing for us is when we see how individual people, families, and entire tribes and ethnic groups are changed through the power of the Gospel. Peaceful interaction and loving treatment of one another (love, acceptance, and forgiveness) can only happen through an inner encounter with Christ and through discipleship in groups.
